Heavy Industrial and Mining Lighting in and around the ROM (Run of Mine) and primary crusher can be very demanding on light fittings. Quality lighting in these areas requires careful evaluation of the following:

• Light fittings are often hosed down to remove the dirt from the lens and require IP66 / IP67 / IP68.
• Control of glare from bright light sources to minimise impaired vision and temporary blindness to staff is critical for safety. Selection of the most suitable light fitting for the application is very important. Drivers reversing to dump can experience impaired vision from light sources if the wrong light source is selected. • Many areas have heavy vibration in the ROM and any fixed plant close to a crusher. Light fittings must be built to minimise the effects of vibration. Quality LED’s and electronic components are critical. Resistance to vibration can be achieved through the careful design and assembly of purpose built light fittings for this industry.
